A NATURAL RESOURCE EDUCATION CENTER

EXPLORING THE ECOLOGY SURROUNDING THE
ETOWAH, COOSA, AND OOSTANAULA RIVERS
ABOUT
The Rome-Floyd E.C.O. Center exists to provide quality educational programs and events centered on Georgia's biodiversity and native wildlife. We are passionate about teaching the value and importance of natural resource leadership, stewardship, and conservation to all ages through a variety of opportunities. As a joint department of the City of Rome and Floyd County governments, our goal is provide our citizens and visitors with a fun and unique perspective on our ecological assets. Whether you are a first-time visitor or frequent the E.C.O. Center often, you will have a great experience!

EXHIBITS
The E.C.O. Center houses over 30 live wildlife exhibits that showcase a variety of reptiles, amphibians, and fish native to the area. Our collection of snakes, turtles, lizards, frogs, salamanders, and fish are the same ones that you may encounter in your backyards, on our trails, or in our forests and rivers. These exhibits are professionally designed and maintained, giving visitors an opportunity to visually identify and learn more about the animals that they may see in the wild. The E.C.O. Center is permitted through the Georgia Department of Natural Resources to collect and exhibit Georgia wildlife.
In addition to live exhibits, visitors can expect to see static displays with colorful infographics, professional mounts, and interactive components.
